Tasting

Colour: dark ruby red
Aromas: flowers, cassis and blond tobacco.
Palate: balanced, fine, velvety tannins, blueberries, chocolate and cherries

Serving suggestion: Open an hour before drinking. The ideal drinking temperature is 18°C.

Oenologist : Miguel Besoaín

Harvest time: handpicked in the first week of April

Quantity: 6500 kg per hectare

Production size: 40 barriques

Vinification : pre-fermentative cold maceration of 7 days, alcoholic fermentation in small stainless steel tanks, post-fermentative maceration of 4 days, malolactic fermentation in barriques.
Each grape variety is matured in barriques. The cuving takes place just a few days before bottling. The wine is neither fined nor filtered.

Maturation: The wine is aged 100% for 18 months in French barriques, which are personally toasted by Miguel Besoain. After that, it is granted a 12-month bottle rest period before going on sale.

Harvest: The early summer was dry and slightly warm resulting in reasonable water restriction. The ripening process was consistent throughout the season, allowing the harvest in the last week of April to provide optimal taste and aromas.

Vineyards: The average age of the vines is 26 years. They are 650 meters above sea level.

Soil condition: Alluvial origin. The first 20 cm of the soil is a mixture of clay and gravel. After one meter depth there are some calcareous fringes mixed with colluvial particles coming from the surrounding mountains.

Climate: The vineyard is situated on a terrace above the Maipo River. The semi-arid Mediterranean climate with an average annual rainfall of 350 mm ensures stable and optimal weather conditions with a high level of sunshine during the ripening period and cool night airs coming down from the Andes. As a result, there are strong temperature fluctuations of 28°C during the day and 10-12°C at night.
